Terrible is the temptation to do good ....

Bertolt Brecht made the narrator say of Grusha's plight in his play
'The Caucasian Chalk Circle'
the most profound line
"Terrible is the temptation to do good"
 
Our own great Late Henry Jayasena translated it brilliantly as
“අහ ! යහපත්බව සාපය”

and then, I thought of Hatha (Late G.K. Hattotuwegama), my teacher in English Drama in the first year at University and how he ventured to explore the true essence of this great play and it's timeless validity in understanding what happens around us in the society in which we live and also make ...
