Power: a synthesis

by Renton de Alwis

Landed face down
dusted aroused swam
deep waters dark
surfaced mask torn
look up at shinning sun
draw energize crave
straighten curved ends
iron creases darn
torn dress wear
different mask
bought at an auction
in a showy land
praise curse claim
what is yours be mine
what is mine can never
ever be yours
like a weary lion king
protect kith kin
take lumpy share
throw meaty bones
make loyal fools
kill foxy hens
reign like there's no end
in thy summer days
build false bottom boats
make bamboo mask
wear thorny throne
make lofty moves
dive springboard thrust
die dark deep death.
